Concerned about your child’s safety? Get a GPS-enabled smart watch for your kid. At least that’s what the residents of Ghaziabad are doing after the mysterious disappearance of Archie Yadav, a 12-year-old girl, from her home in Shakti Khand 3, Indirapuram.
KK Singh, a resident of Exotica Elegance, Ahinsa Khand 2, told City Spidey that he ordered an imported smart watch for his five-year-old son, Advit Singh. “Worn like a normal wrist watch, it is equipped with a mobile SIM, and provides GPS location to the synchronised mobile phone via an android app,” explained Singh.
Singh, an IT professional, had heard about the watch at a tech seminar.

There are other takers too.
Indu Mathur, another resident of Exotica Elegance, got a similar smart watch for her six-year-old grandson. “Although we do not let him go outside the society alone, he wears the watch whenever he steps out of the flat. It also keeps us updated about his location inside the society. It’s a great way of keeping a watch on children. And given the current circumstances, it is no longer a fancy accessory but rather a necessity," Mathur added.
Parents City Spidey spoke to expressed interest in wearable GPS trackers — and teachers, too, seemed to endorse the idea.TAGS: Exotica Elegance / Ahinsa Khand 2 / Parents / Residents / Smart Watches / GPS Tracker
