Residents of Noida Sector 52 have installed 14 CCTV cameras in their compound. Gate numbers 2, 6 and 7 get ten of them, while the community centre gets four.
"Cases of vehicle theft are on the rise. So we have decided to beef up our security arrangements," said Ravi Gupta, President of RWA, Sector 52.
The camera footage would be monitored 24/7 by the Sector's security staff at the community centre. SP City (Noida) Dinesh Yadav, who inaugurated the community centre gate on January 26, inspected the monitoring room. He also offered some guidance on digital surveillance.
This move by Sector 52 RWA comes a week after the theft of a beacon-bearing SUV from Sector 23.
