Gautam Buddh Nagar police claimed to have impounded over a dozen private buses operating without valid documents in Greater Noida. According to the police, the action has come during a day long ‘Operation Clean’ on Thursday.

Police said that during the drive against illegal activities in the city, the officials checked buses plying on roads. Checking was conducted at crucial junctures like Sector 37 in Noida and at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida where bus operators have made area as illegal waiting points.

“Eighty buses were held up for inspection, 14 of them in Pari Chowk in Greater Noida and 66 in Sector 37. 14 buses were impounded at Pari Chowk. Operators of buses inspected at Noida sought some time to produce the documents and some time has been given to them,” Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Vaibhav Krishna said.

Krishna further said the action has been taken to ensure hassle-free traffic movement. He added that there have been regular complaints about passengers being duped and looted while travelling at night in private buses.
