Noida: Residents demand monumental national flag at Meghdutam Park

The residents of 18 high rise societies in Sector 50, Noida, demanded setting up of a monumental flag at Meghdutam Park from the local authority.

Federation of Apartments Owners Associations for high rises in Noida on Friday wrote to Ritu Maheshwari, chief executive officer of Noida Authority, local MLA Pankaj Singh, and MP Mahesh Sharma demanding a monumental flag.

They want a monumental national flag similar to one installed at the Connaught Place area in New Delhi.

The federation, which is a registered body under the provisions of the UP Apartment Act, 2010, informed them that the park is surrounded by about 18 high rises in the sector. The rear gates of these societies open towards the park.

Spread over 25 acres, it is one of the largest and well-maintained parks of Noida.

The federation claimed that on an average, 1,000 residents visit the park every day on regular basis. They have expressed their strong desire for a monumental national flag to be hoisted in the center of the park.

An official of the federation said that installation of flag would be a proud moment for everyone in Noida. He said, “Considering residents’ demands, efforts should be put in to make the installation possible.”
