To encourage young talent of the colony, resident welfare association of sector 40 organised a two-day sports and cultural programme at their community centre.
Children of various age groups participated in several sports disciplines like badminton, chess, tennis among others with great zeal and excitement.
The cultural programme, consisting of group and solo dance, singing competition, was also conducted wherein children mesmerised the audience with their raw talent.
The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony wherein all the participants of sports and cultural programmes were awarded.
Apart from the winners of the sports day and cultural programme, the RWA also honoured the academically meritorious students and those who have participated in national and state level sports.
Krish and Parth Jain were honoured for winning a medal at national level junior swimming competition while Oneeka Singh was honoured for scoring 96 percent marks in 10th grade.
Prapti Singh, Anushka and Gunjan Agrawal were awarded for their distinguished achievements in various field.
Kausthub Kaushik was awarded for his achievement at Table Tennis Haryana state tournament 2018-19 where he bagged a second position. Ashwaria was honoured for creating awareness on waste segregation and its management.
Besides, various fun-filled activities were organised for adults as well to keep up the spirit.
“We thank all the residents for their active participation and support in making this event a success. We will continue organising such events in future and encourage our children,” said RS Yadav, president of the RWA.
