Burglaries in three flats of Ajanara Homes and one of La Residentia on Tuesday have raised a serious security concerns for the residents living in highrises of Greater Noida area. It is alarming that burglars are targeting the flats in broad daylight when the owners of the flats were out.
The incidents have created fear among the residents as they are now sceptical to leave the flat even during the daytime. It indicates serious lapses on the security system deployed at the high rises.
The owners of all four flats were in their offices and they knew about the incidents only when they returned to their homes. In Ajnara Homes, burglary reported in Tower – B/1107, Tower- L/1105 and 005.
Nitesh Sinha, who live in flat number L/1105 in Ajnara Homes informed CitySpidey that he and his wife Rinki Sharma are working couple and they were at their offices when the incident happened.
“It is really a serious concern not only for us but all those couples who are office goers. It is surprising that despite having security system and CCTV cameras installed in the society, theft incidents are being reported,” he said.
He further said, “We left for office in Gurugram at 8 am. When we returned back, we saw that main gate of the flat was open. The burglars ransacked the entire flat. They executed the crime in such a manner that it looked pre-planned. They had no fear of getting caught.”
Flat number 204 of Tower 8 of La Residentia was also burgled in broad daylight and flat owners (couple) were in their offices at the time of incident. Sanjeev Gupta, flat owner in his complaint to Bishrakh police station said that Rs 2.5 lakh cash was missing from his flat along with jewelleries of worth more than Rs 2 lakh.
Both the societies are located within 3 km of distance in Greater Noida West. Dinkar Pandey, a resident of Ajnara Homes said, “We think that we are living in a full-proof security system but such incidents are exposing the security system of our societies.”
