Follwing a rise in dengue cases in the National Capital, the East Delhi Municipal corporation (EDMC) carried out an awareness drive in the city to aware people about dengue prevention. A report by the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) states that 1,000 cases of dengue have been reported till now. 

Information and corporate communication head of NDMC, Dr. Yogendra Singh Maan, said, We are observing a different pattern of dengue this year. Generally, weather from July to September are peak for dengue, but this year several cases emerged in the onset of winter. To avoid spread of dengue, NDMC ordered the mayors of the three zones to run a special awareness drive for dengue prevention.”

Volunteers have been hired to run the drive. Chairperson of Sahadra One, Kanchan Maheshwari, said, “A street play will be performed to educate the people about dengue prevention. Through the play, we will inform people about the various measures, like avoiding stagnant water and keeping water in the open, they should take to prevent the spread of dengue. A to do check list for dengue prevention has also been released.
