Third Aadhaar Seva Kendra opens in Delhi

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has operationalised the third Aadhaar Seva Kendra in New Delhi which is located in Mohan Estate, Badarpur. Unlike other  Aadhaar Seva Kendras, which work for six days a week, the new Kendra will remain open on all the seven days of the week and has a capacity to handle up to 1,000 requests every day.

The other two Aadhaar Seva Kendras in Delhi are located at Akshardham and Inderlok metro stations. These kendras work similarly to Passport Seva Kendras where an applicant can book an online appointment to avail various services.

Apart from Delhi, the UIDAI has also opened similar Aadhaar Seva Kendras centres in Mysuru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Guwahati, Dehradun and Ranchi.

People can book an appointment as per their convenience as the new ASK entails an online appointment management system. A person can apply for a new Aadhaar card through these centres and can even update their name, address, mobile number, email id, date of birth, gender and biometric data like photo, fingerprint and iris.

These centres operate from 9:30 am to 6 pm and will be closed only on Tuesdays and public holidays

You can search ASK near you in three ways—State, Postal (PIN) Code and Search Box

  1. Visit the official website of UIDAI.
  2. Click on 'Locate an Enrolment Centre'.
  3. A form will appear asking for details such as Select State, District, Sub District, Village / City / Town.
  4. If you want to search only permanent centres, select check box option.
  5. Enter verification code and press search button.
  6. Relevant Aadhaar Card Enrolment Centres are displayed on the screen.
  7. Enter your PIN code and then the Captcha Verification code
  8. To locate the Aadhaar center near you, enter your locality name, city or district and then enter the Captcha Verification code.

The Aadhaar-issuing body plans to open 114 such centres in 53 cities across India by the end of the year at an estimated cost of Rs. 300-400 crore.
