In view of the Supreme Court's verdict in Ayodhya case, the district  administration of Ghaziabad has geared up and made several arrangements to avoid any untoward incident which can disturb law and order situation.

Police have also advised social media users to post with discretion, and restrain from spreading unverified content. The administration has advised admins of WhatsApp and Facebook groups running in the city to change their settings and allow only themselves to post and forward any content. 

As precautionary measures, the administration has also banned sale of acid and ordered schools, colleges and training centers to stay shut till Monday. All educational institutes in neighbouring Gautam Budh Nagar and Delhi will also remain closed till Monday.

The police administration held a meeting with RWA officials and asked for their coordination to keep peaceful atmosphere. 

“The RWAs runs various WhatsApp groups. We have advised them to not allow posts and forwards of content which can create communal tensions. We have also asked them to immediately report police authorities if they come across any content posted with malicious intent. Necessary arrangements will be made to ensure safety and security of religious places. Social media platforms will also be monitored,” said SK Singh, SSP Ghaziabad.

Police personnel also met the Shahi Imam and Imams of other mosques, requesting them to urge people to exercise restraint and demonstrate faith in the judiciary.

Besides, office of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has also issued an advisory on its portal and appealed people to maintain peace and communal harmony. “Avoid rumours and fake information. Any person trying to disturb peace and communal harmony will be dealt under the law,” the advisory stated.
