Ganga Yamuna Hindon Apartment Owners’ Association urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to take steps for the resumption of the long-pending construction of the flyover that connects Sidharth Vihar with Vasundhara.

A delegation of the association called on the Chief Minister on Friday and apprised him about the delay in the construction of the flyover and its utility for the residents of the city.

A detailed project report of the flyover was accepted during Akhilesh government. However, after the regime change, the progress on the work came to a standstill.
Speaking about the benefits of the flyover city, Yatendra Nagar, president of the association, said, “The flyover, once constructed, will not only reduce the distance by eight kilometer will but also ease the traffic burden on NH-24 which is presently only route for the residents of Siddharth Vihar to reach Vaishali, Indirapuram and Vasundhara."

Currently, the residents have to travel via intermediary roads or NH 24 to reach these destinations. The flyover will enable free mobility to 5,000 families living in the area as also the 6,000 families proposed to occupy the upcoming residential societies here. The flyover will also declutter the existing traffic as it will provide direct connectivity to the aforementioned destinations.

Nagar said that the chief minister summoned some officials in their presence and asked them to brief him about the project which he said reflected his keen interest in the subject.

Townships such as Indirapuram, Vaishali and Raj Nagar Extension are under immense traffic strain. Construction of the flyover is a long-term solution to the problem, added Nagar.
