Fitness freaks spend great time at RunFun marathon

Hundreds of people from all walks of life participated in first edition of RunFun marathon to support KJ Foundation initiative for cancer awareness. People belonging to all age groups came together on the streets of Gurugram to show their solidarity for the cause.

The marathon started from DLF Cyber City at 6 am. People joined hands for this cause and ran in different categories of 1 km, 3 km, 5 km and 10 km. They ran to pursue their passion for sports and fitness.

While sharing his excitement, Sanjay Setia, who participated along with five of his family members said, “This is a great opportunity for us to run together as whole family and inspire our younger generation to include physical activities in their routine. It is more important from the perspective that youngsters are spending a lot of time inside their homes with electronic gadgets.”

 

Echoing the similar sentiment, Pradip Kumar, a resident of Sare Homes said, “I had a great time participating in 5 km category. I regularly do yoga and walk to keep myself fit and healthy.”

Highlight of the event was a dance session by Cult Fit. It enthralled the participants adding more energy to the already charged up atmosphere. The session motivated them to maintain high fitness levels in their lives.

The event was indeed a great success with the enormous enthusiasm showcased by the women, men and kids. 

Other participants like Deeksha Gaur and Shikha Sharma too enjoyed participating in marathon. They said that it was their first experience of running marathon. “The run was totally exciting and we want to do it together for long time,” they said.

People ran with passion and were gratified when medals were given to them. 

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Jindal, Trustee, KJ Foundation said, “It is an initiative by KJ Foundation to spread cancer awareness. It was formed in the memory of my mother Kanta Jindal, who lost the battle of life fighting cancer.” 

Our aim is to work towards creating cancer awareness among masses. Through this marathon, we are trying to instil the importance of fitness and health in fast-paced life.”

The winners of 10 km and 5 km categories were awarded with assorted goodies.
