Despite several measures taken by the Delhi government to improve the air quality, it remained in the ‘very poor’ category on Monday morning. 

The air quality index (AQI) was 331 at 10.37 am today. The AQI at Rohini, Bawana and Anand Vihar was 380, 375 and 373 respectively.

SAFAR, government air quality monitoring service, said that the air quality in the National Capital is expected to turn severe on Tuesday. On Sunday, the AQI stood at 321. 

On Sunday, most of the air quality monitoring stations in Delhi recorded air quality in the 'very poor' category.

As for the National Capital Region (NCR), the AQI in Gurugram was 304, while in Faridabad it was 306. Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad recorded an AQI of 358, 346 and 364 respectively. 

An AQI between 0-50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 'severe'. Above 500 falls in the 'severe plus' category.
