NCR RWAs demand legalisation of resident bodies

Noida: The Confederation of National Capital Region (NCR) Resident Welfare Associations on Tuesday said that it would put forth a proposal before Hardip Singh Puri, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, at the 7th national conference of RWAs demanding legalisation of resident bodies. 

Puri will be chief guest at the conference scheduled to take place on November 16 and 17 at Andhra Association Bhavan, Lodhi Institutional area, New Delhi.

PS Jain, president of the confederation, informed that they have invited resident bodies from across the NCR to come forward to put their demand before the government.

He said the resident bodies are involved in the welfare of the residents. But unfortunately, they have no legal validity unlike elected representatives of gram panchayats.

Sri Krishan Reddi, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, will inauguarate the conference. Local MPs and MLAs from the NCR will also attend the conference to listen to the problems of the residents and their representatives.
