In order to control the pollution levels in Dwarka, a team of officers of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) inspected its projects and infrastructure in Dwarka on Saturday. The team was led by Vice Chairman Tarun Kapoor.

During the visit, the officers of DDA were directed to take steps including like clearance of the construction debris lying on the roads and streets.

They were also directed to clean the footpaths and pavements and prevent the spread of dust. Sites undergoing constructions were directed to cover its sites properly to prevent dust pollution. Use of water sprinklers was advised to prevent spread of dust.

People welcomed the visit of the Vice Chairman and the officials in the area. But, on the other hand, they expressed their concern about whether the directed steps would be taken properly or not in the area.

They said that the pollution level is going high year after year but the directive measures were not being taken earlier.

Rakesh Kumar, a resident of sector 16 said, “This seems to be a good move. But, seeing the past record, we doubt that it can just be a formality. I am saying this because if they would have been serious, then there would not have been dust lying on the roads and violation of norms.”

Meenakshi Singh, a resident of Sector 3 said, “I am just waiting for their action. Hopefully, they would do something this time.”
