After battling toxic air for four consecutive days, Delhiites woke up to a cleaner air on Sunday morning. The air quality dramatically improved from ‘severe’ to ‘poor’ category. 

Even though the air quality remained in ‘severe’ category till Saturday morning, the National Capital started witnessing a steady dip in the pollution level as the day progressed.

On Sunday, the air quality index (AQI) at 9 am stood at 254 while on Saturday it was 412.  The AQI in Gurugram was 193, Faridabad 228, Noida 224, Ghaziabad 241 and Greater Noida 192.

The minimum temperature in Delhi on Sunday was 16 degrees Celsius while humidity was recorded at 71 percent. 

Met department has predicted mainly clear sky for the day with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 28 degrees Celsius. 

An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 'severe’.
