MCG takes over water and sewerage charge of HSVP sectors

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has taken over the charge of water supply and sewerage system of all the sectors that come under Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). Now all the water bills would be deposited to the civic body.

MCG Commissioner Amit Khatri said, “The sewerage and water connections in the HSVP sectors, Sector-1 to 57, are now with the MCG and the fee charges for the services would be recovered by the corporation.”

The MCG has given the responsibility to the private agency for distributing the bills on the spot. The representative of the agency will visit the location to take water meter reading according to which the water bills would be generated.

The civic body will generate the bills for the period August 2019 to October 2019. Residents of HSVP sectors can also download the bill from the MCG webiste www.mcg.gov.in

Although the HSVP sectors came under the ambit of the MCG in 2016, the corporation was not charging any kind of water charges from the people rather it was  paying to Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

The MCG has been carrying out the maintenance work of water sewer connection to the sectors since 2016, however, the fee charge for water supply and sewerage was being deposited to HSVP.

The civic authority is now hoping to increase its revenue through collection of water and sewer charges. According to MCG, this would generate Rs 10 crore annually.

In this regard, Additional Municipal Commissioner YS Gupta held a meeting with Chief Engineer ND Vashistha, Chief Account Officer Bharat Bhushan Kalra, Executive Engineer Amit Sandilya, IT Advisor Vinod Verma and instructed them to complete all the bills and payment related tasks. Section Officer Rajesh Gupta has been appointed as the nodal officer for this task.

He said that people should not face any problem in receiving and payment of the bills. "The facility to pay sewerage and water charges is available in the citizen services centre of MCG along with the branches of HDFC, ICICI and Axis Bank,"Gupta informed.
