Indirapuram: To decongest the roads of Indirapuram, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has decided to declare three busy roads as no parking zone. These roads lie in crowded areas and always witness traffic congestions.
Initially, the road between Shipra Mall and Indirapuram Habitat Centre will be declared as no parking zone. From Wednesday, no parking signboards will be displayed on the road. The authority will impose hefty fines on the violators of the rule.
Later, two other roads in Shakti Khand and Vaibhav Khand will also be declared as no parking zone.
“Haphazard parking is one of the biggest causes of traffic congestion. In order to control it, we have turned three spots into no parking zone starting this Wednesday. If people are found violating this rule, their vehicle would be towed away by crane and fine will be levied on them,” said AK Chaudhary, executive engineer of Indirapuram area in GDA.
The GDA has acted upon a suggestion given by Central Road Research Institute (CRRI). Few days ago, a team from CRRI had surveyed more than half dozens crowded areas of Indirapuram and suggested designation of parking spots in those areas.
Out of those six spots, GDA has selected three areas for no parking zones instead. GDA officials said that making no parking zone seems a feasible option currently.
