DLF New Town Heights celebrates 550 years of Guru Nanak Dev

Gurugram: To mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikh religion, residents of DLF New Town Heights in Sector 86 and 90 jointly celebrated Gurupurab on Sunday with religious fervor and gaiety.

Residents from several neighbouring societies also joined in the celebration and paid their obeisance to Guru Nanak and seek his blessings and spread the message of peace and harmony which is at the core of the religion he founded.

People offered prayers and took part in Gurbani Shabad Kirtan. They emphasised the life journey of Guru Nanak Dev and his teachings and principles.

Harmanjot Singh, a resident of New Town Heights, said, “It was a joint effort by the Sikh community living in new sectors. We arranged several programmes to commemorate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.”

Besides the celebration, a huge langar (community feasting) was organised outside the society and served among the devotees and visitors.
