These days, people are glued to either their mobile or computer screens. This may affect their vision at an early age. The rising pollution in our city has added to the problem.

Dust particles that settle at the lowest layer of atmosphere pose a threat to eyes, which are the most delicate and vulnerable part of human body. Many people are suffering from conditions like short and farsightedness, glaucoma and cataract.

According to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) first report on vision, more than one billion people worldwide are living with vision impairment because they do not get the required care for these conditions. The report found that ageing populations, changing lifestyles and limited access to eye care, particularly in low and middle-income countries, are the major reasons for increasing number of people living with vision impairment.
