Delhi: The air quality deteriorated to 'very poor' category in Delhi and nearby areas on Thursday. As per reports, it is likely to turn 'severe' in next two days.

As per the government's air quality monitoring and forecasting service SAFAR, the air quality index (AQI) was 312 at 7 am in the morning on Thursday. 

The air quality of Greater Noida and Noida was recorded at 340 and 320 respectively in 'very poor' category.

An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 'severe'. 

Meanwhile, Parliamentary panel on urban development held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the ways to control air pollution in the national capital.
