Gurugram: RWA body meets officials for solution to fees enhancement impasse

Gurugram: The representative group of All Sector Residents Welfare Association of Haryana held a meeting with the D Suresh, chief administrator, Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) on Wednesday at Panchkula over the ongoing impasse on recalculation of enhancement fees.

During the meeting, the representatives were anguished over the apathetic attitude of zonal committee and alleged that they are constantly ignoring the rules regarding the matter.

Tejinder Sehrawat, State Secretary said, “We want the recalculated compensation to be implemented at the earliest. Two years ago, the government had announced enhancement fee of Rs 6,700 per square yard which was later reduced to Rs 1,290 per square yard. This recalculation has not been implemented yet.”

“We have demanded schedule for all the sectors and the process to be completed in one month. We have also requested action against the officers who are trying to complete the process by arbitrary recalculation and ignoring the rules of notification,” said Sehrawat.

According to the residents, the calculation for enhancement fees for land acquired from farmers is unjust.

Akshay Bhatia, Joint Secretary, Sector 57 RWA said, “All the sectors' residents are restless due to the ongoing enhancement recalculation issue which is pending from the last 2-3 years. The residents are aggrieved due to this unjust as interest penalty is being piling on us.” Around 550 crores enhancement fees are due with HSVP allottees.

The fee is borne by the plot owner and paid to the government. In the initial scheme, plot owners would bear the enhancement fee for land meant for public projects such as schools, roads, parks, sewers in the area.

The move was opposed by the plot owners and a committee to recalculate enhancement. One sector each from five districts including Gurugram, Faridabad, Rohtak, Hisar, and Panchkula has been selected for the recalculation.
