To enhance road safety, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Secretary of Regional Transport Authority, Mohammad Imran Raza, held a meeting to review the action taken by the concerned departments on 25 points agenda under the district road safety committee and safe school vehicle policy.

During the meeting, he instructed the educational institutions to complete all the security arrangements in their buses. Reflector taps should be pasted in all the vehicles and other locations to prepare for the foggy condition during winters.

In the meeting, he also reviewed whether any action has been taken on the issues discussed in the previous meeting. He said that road safety is an important matter for which everyone have to be more conscious.

“Road safety is a serious matter and any kind of lax attitude will not be tolerated. All the officials of various departments have to ensure that necessary action is taken on the roads that came under their jurisdiction,” he said.

During the meeting, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials were instructed to install high-mast lighting at Sarhaul toll. He asked NHAI to take necessary action in this regard and submit its report to the Road Safety Committee in two days.

Apart from this, he also instructed the officials to make arrangements for pedestrians for crossing the road near Sadar Bazar.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner gave instructions to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) officials to install traffic related information boards at all the main routes.

“Winters have arrived therefore it is necessary that  reflector tap, sign board, repairing of roads etc are done on time so that road accidents can be prevented,” he added.

Education Department was instructed to hold meetings with school operators and instruct them to make necessary security arrangements in the school buses. Traffic police officials were asked to challan bus drivers who violate traffic rules.
