Greater Noida: The district administration of Gautam Budh Nagar on Saturday circulated a video advisory asking people not to burst crackers during marriage functions after several cases of violation of guidelines from Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) were reported in the district in last two days.
As per the EPCA guidelines, bursting of firecrackers is prohibited in winter as they contribute to air pollution and affect Air Quality Index (AQI).
Following the guidelines, the district administration has registered four cases against people involved in violating the order.
In the video shared by the administration, City Magistrate Shailendra Mishra said that strict action will be taken against people who violate the norms.
In Greater Noida, the Air Quality Index (AQI) on Saturday at 2 pm was 181 under the 'unhealthy' category while in Noida's sector 125, it was 230 under the 'very unhealthy' category.
