Multipoint connection: NPCL conducts awareness session at societies

Noida: The Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) on Sunday conducted a public awareness meeting for a multipoint connection in Saya Zion in Greater Noida and Himalayan Pride society in Greater Noida West on Sunday.

The meet was attended by residents of several societies in the region willing to adopt a multipoint connection in their society.

In the meeting, NPCL Vice President Sarnath Ganguly said that notice will be sent out to the builders who have been charging the maintenance from the electricity meters after people complained that the builder was still charging maintenance from the meters.

Ganguly also explained the benefits of a multipoint connection and how it can be acquired.  The cost involved for multi-point connection is Rs 15,000 including the NPCL's Digital Dual Meter.

The residents were told that in order to take a connection, they don't need permission from the builders. Registry or even allotment papers will do the needful.

All the residents have to do is get the approval of 51 per cent flat resident on a stamp paper of 10 rupees, which will be considered as the possession of the tower. Notably, NPCL has already started a pilot project of a multi-point connection at Royal Court in Greater Noida West.

Talking to CitySpidey, Noida Extension Flat Owners Main Association (NEFOMA) President Annu Khan said that meeting with NPCL was very important for the residents as they had many questions about how to take a multipoint connection.

He said, “The builders have been robbing people in the name of electricity, DG sets, and maintenance charges. Through a multipoint connection, the builder will not be able to charge any additional cost from the residents.”

Representatives from Ace City, Arihant Arden, Green Arc, Eco-Village 2, Mahagun Mywoods and other societies of Greater Noida West were present in the meeting held at Himalayan Pride. On the other hand, the campaign at Saya Zion saw residents of societies of Greater Noida.
