New Delhi: Mayur Utsav 2019 was kick-started with mesmerising performances of famous artists in Mayur Vihar on Sunday. The two-day long event was organised by Delhi government and Sahitya Kala Parishad.
On the first day of the event, the audience experienced a brilliant performance by renowned singer Mohit Chauhan. He enchanted the audience by singing songs from Bollowood and popular music album Silk Route.
Audience thoroughly enjoyed his peppy numbers as they were found asking for more. They grooved on his songs.
It was followed by a puppet show performed by Puran Bhatt from Rajasthan. He is the recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2003. He showcased gripping act with large puppets. He made puppets to perform on various Bollywood songs and entertained the audience.
The evening was brought to light by performance from Gajendra Rana and his team. They presented the live folk songs and dance from Uttarakhand. The dance is a procession of their deity Nanda Devi.
On Monday, Bollywood singing sensation Shilpa Rao will be performing live in front of the audiences. There will also be a Shehnai recital followed by Puran Bhatt's puppet show.
The platform is an initiative by Delhi government and Sahitya Kala Parishad to create an opportunity for art and music lovers to meet eminent personalities.
It is also intended to revive fading Indian culture and heritage. The event was organised at East Vinod Nagar Sports Complex, Mayur Vihar Phase-2 in New Delhi.
