Gaur Sportswood in Noida's Sector 79 celebrated Gurupurab on Sunday marking the 550th birthday anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
The celebration started with paath (recitation of hymns) followed by kirtan (devotional singing) and Guru ka Langar (community feast dedicated to the Lord). The residents offered their seva (service) in the preparation from installation of a tent and cooking to serving food to diners.
The langar was organised through community contribution for which residents of the society funded generously and provided all the accessories including oil, flour, vegetables, rice, dal and other paraphernalia.
The preparations, which were going on for a month, eventually bore fruits as the celebration turned out to be a huge success thanks to the efforts of the volunteers, who came forward to work for the festival selflessly and dedicatedly.
