Disappointed by the pathetic condition of green belts in Indirapuram, Vice-Chairperson of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA), Kanchan Verma, warned the civic officials of strict action against them if they failed to maintain the green belt.

Expressing her displeasure during an inspection at Indirapuram on Sunday, Verma pulled up the officials for not maintaining the green belts and central verges of the main roads. An official from horticulture department of GDA quoted her warning that if such irregularities are found again, she would take action against the zonal incharge.

Officials also said that Verma directed them to plant more saplings and increase green cover of the belts and central verges. She also directed them on regular maintenance of the green areas.
