Crime in Gurgaon seems to have touched a new high, with the abduction of the station house officer (SHO) of Gurgaon by four individuals. Twelve hours later, he was found in Kosi, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the police, SHO Surender Singh Phogat, posted in Sector 29, went missing around 12:30 pm on Thursday while on his way to meet a senior official.

“Phogat had noticed four suspicious-looking men while driving. He stopped his Swift Dzire and began questioning them,” said police CPRO ACP Hawa Singh.

"One of them started to run, while Phogat continued to speak to the other two. Meanwhile, the third suspect called out to the one who was trying to escape. The SHO tried to force the suspects into his car, but the four overpowered him even before he could turn on the ignition,” Singh elaborated.

“Twelve hours later, based on a phone call that Phogat made to his family, the police traced him to Kosi in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. He was found in an injured state. The kidnappers dumped him and made off with his mobile phone and car. A case has been registered with the Sector 29 police station at Sushant Lok,” Singh added.
