Ardee City residents call on MLA, assured of all help

Residents of Ardee City, located in Sector 52, held a meeting with the newly elected Gurugram MLA Sudhir Singla on Saturday to apprise him of the problems they are facing.

The issues they took up during the course of the meeting included takeover of the colony by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), registry of properties, occupation certificates of flats, blocking entry into the colony from Indira Colony, provision of bus shelter at gate no. 3 among others.

Around 200 denizens attended the meeting and vociferously raised their demands. During the meeting, RWA members handed over a memorandum of demands and sought the MLA’s intervention on several developmental issues.

They alleged that the developer had been neglecting the maintenance of the colony for the last 6-7 years which has aggravated the miseries of residents. At present, more than 12,000 people are residing in 2,500 flats in the colony.

Chaitali Mandhotra, a member Ardee City RWA, said, “We have demanded immediate transfer of our colony to the MCG as we are have suffered for far too long under the developer. During the meeting, we raised several issues such as deplorable condition of the sector’s internal road, dysfunctional streetlights etc. For the last one year, we are maintaining the cleanliness of the colony through voluntary donation, but we cannot construct roads or install streetlights on our own.”

Apart from the civic issues, the residents pointed out lack of infrastructure such as community centre, temple, health centre, green belt etc.

The residents are now hopeful that some development would be visible on the ground after the MLA’s intervention. Parveen Yadav, president of the RWA, said, “More than 2,500 families are facing problem. We hope this meeting will yield some positive outcome for the residents.”

The residents suggested frequent meeting between the residents and MLA to discuss their concern.

The MLA also announced that he would soon formulate a core team of residents from various sectors which will look into the problems raised by the residents and resolve it in coordination with the civic authorities.

He also assured the residents of the development and solution of the issues raised by them. He said he would talk to Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) officials and tehsildar for the registry of properties and would expedite the MCG for takeover of the colony.
