Hundreds of devotees of Ayyappa in Dwarka and its surrounding areas, hailing from Kerala, participated in the Ayyappa Puja at the premises of a temple in Radhika Apartments Sector 14. The event, organised by Dwarka Malyali Association on Monday, marked religious fervour.

Religious rituals invoking many a type of cultural and traditional values were carried out on the occasion.

An added attraction of the event was a cultural programme where folk artists from Kerala performed songs and dance. Kathakali, a dance form of Kerala, was the centre of attraction of the occasion.

Apart from cultural performances, visitors treated to traditional delicacies at a community feast.

The day-long celebration started at 5 am and culminated at 10 pm.

Gopinnathan PG convenor said, “We have been celebrating this festival in Dwarka for long. This is the 18th year of our celebration. People of all religious denominations irrespective of their caste and creed participate in the festival. The best part of our puja is that it creates harmony in the community.”
