New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to enlist the support of civic agencies to fixing geo-coordinates of houses which will allow residents of unauthorised colonies to seek ownership rights of their properties. There are more than 1,700 unauthorised colonies in the National Capital.

Apart from this, the residents will be required to upload detailed illustrations of architectural components of homes and ownership documents.

The DDA will set a website on December 16 to begin the process of PM-UDAY (Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana) to give ownership rights to the residents of the colonies.

The agencies will set up help desks at several places where applicants can give their original documents for verification. Details of the help desks will be displayed on the website and at the Suvidha Kendra.

The DDA has completed demarcating boundaries of 625 colonies. Maps of around 200 such settlements are already there on its website for RWAs to file their objections and suggestions. It will create another website and select agencies for fixing geo-coordinates of plots. The agency plans to hand over ownership certificates to 100-150 people in December.
