They gathered together early morning to pick plastic and other waste scattered all around.

Noida: A cleanliness drive was carried out on Sunday in residential pockets of Noida. Residents of different apartments in various sectors of Noida came forward to contribute to the drive in their respective pockets in the city. 

Anita Joshi, a resident of Sector 51 said that they gathered together in good numbers early in the morning to pick plastic carry bags scattered alongside the main roads and in the parks. After the drive, all the locations are squeaky. Officials of the Noida Industrial Development Authority joined hands with them.

Continuing with their initiative, residents of Century Apartments, a residential society in Sector 100 also conducted cleanliness drive in their sector. To encourage them, office bearers of FONRWA, including Yogendra Sharma, president of the federation, T C Gaur, secretary (legal), Vikrant Chaudhary, general secretary of RWA, sector 116 joined them when the drive was in full swing. 

They appealed the residents to download a mobile application for registering complaints and getting them resolved by officers concerned.

In a similar initiative,  residents organised an awareness programme for female domestic workers acquaint them about personal hygiene, save water, garbage segregation, polythene free sector etc. 

Sanitary napkins and cotton bags were distributed among them. They all are invited to join again the Nukkad Natak, which will take place on December 9 at B Block park.
