Gurugram: For better redressal of grievances, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on Sunday launched a ward-wise campaign where civic issues will be addressed on the spot. 

On the first Sunday, the MCG officials visited ward numbers 19, 23 and 29 and listened to the complaints of the residents.

Mayor Madhu Azad presided a meeting at a community centre in ward number 19. She was accompanied by Councillor Ashwini Sharma along with executive engineer, assistant engineer and other officers. 

During the meeting, residents raised their complaints. The Mayor asked the officials to resolve the matter on immediate basis.

During the meeting, several complaints related to encroachment, cleanliness, streetlights, sewerage, water were raised by the residents. 

The officials initiated the action to resolve the grievances on the spot. On the other hand, the officials were asked to prepare estimated time for the complaints which could not be resolved on the immediate basis.    

After listening to the grievances of the residents, Mayor Madhu Azad said that the initiative will help in understanding the problems in better way. She said, “It will act as a bridge between the officers and public. As scheduled, MCG officers would visit different wards on Sundays”

She urged the citizens to cooperate in making Gurugram clean, beautiful and better.

Similarly, public grievances were heard in ward number 23 in the presence of corporator Ashwini Sharma and MCG Joint Commissioner Mukesh Solanki.

The meeting was organized in the presence of MCG Additional Commissioner Surendra Singh and Councillor Kuldeep Yadav in ward number 29.

According to the MCG Commissioner, Amit Khatri, a schedule has been prepared to run the program to reach out to citizens of every ward on every Sunday from December 1 to January 25. The officers will hear their complaints and will act upon it immediately to resolve the matter.
