Noida: A speeding car ran over the wall of a U-turn on the main road near Kesar Garden, a high rise in Sector 48, Noida. The driver failed to see the wall ahead in the dense fog.
The car was going towards Bhangel, a local village. On reaching near the society, it crashed into the wall. The low height the wall could also have been a reason why the driver could not see it.
The incident occured on the main Dadri road near Bhangel.
Though no causalities were reported, residents started demanding safety measures from the concerned authority to avert such accidents.
Devendra Singh, a resident of Sector 74, Noida, complained to Vaibhav Krishna, SSP of the district police and Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Industrial Development authority that due to lack of reflector at the U-turn near Kesar Garden society, the car rammed into the wall.
He requested them to take necessary steps so that no such incident recur in future.
The residents concede that the administration take traffic safety steps every year. However, these measures are never implemented on the ground. They complain that there are several such U-turns in the city where reflectors need to be put up for safety of the commuters.
