Gurugram: Vipul Lavanya, a residential society located in sector 81, joined hands with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to carry out a cleanliness drive in the sector and adjoining area on Sunday.

The cleanliness drive is a part of the Swachhta Pakhwada (sanitary fortnight) carried out from December 1 to 15. The drive was aimed at educating residents about cleanliness and convincing them to shun the single-use plastics.

Roshan Raje, Deputy Commandant, CISF, Amit Shekhar, RWA president, Naveen Gupta, general secretary, Sunil Yadav and Vipin Jain among others were present on the occasion.

Around 70 people including CISF personnel along with the children, senior citizens and locals enthusiastically participated in the drive and collected plastic polythene and other waste littered around the society.

They were carrying banners and placards with messages on cleanliness and no single use plastic.
Speaking to CitySpidey, Naveen Pareek, a resident of the society said, "Such a drive is extremely helpful in creating awareness in the masses about clean and green neighbourhood."
