Gurugram: A three-day long Geeta Mahotsav held at district level at John Hall in Civil Lines concluded on Sunday with a cultural programme.

An attractive procession was taken out in the city. Gurugram MLA Sudhir Singla, who was the chief guest for the occasion, flagged off the procession after paying obeisance to Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.

Speaking on the occasion, Singla said, “Gita acquaints us about the essence of leading life with stress on the karma (duty). It motivates us to work selflessly to move forward in life.”

A giant Bhagavad Gita was carried out in a palanquin with the procession. The procession set off from John Hall and culminated at Geeta Bhawan passing through More Check, Aggarwal Dharamshala, Gurdwara Road, Jail Road, Bhuteshwar Temple, Pataudi Road and New Colony Tikona Park.

Tableaux of various institutions, temples and district administration depicting various dimensions of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and Lord Shri Krishna were the main attraction of the procession. A large number of people flocked to see this magnificent journey.

At the concluding ceremony of the festival, verses from the Gita were recited. Representatives of various institutions joined the audience in the recitation. 

A school student, Aayushi, captivated the audience her performance of Odissi dance on the occasion. 

Renowned Bharatanatyam artist, Vani Raj Mohan, won everyone's heart with her magnificent performance. Besides, Rasleela, bhajan were also part of the festival.
