Noida: Residents of Sector 50 are furious over the abysmal state of Meghdootam Park which is one of the biggest parks in Noida.

On Monday, they wrote to Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Industrial Development Authority, the civic agency responsible for its maintenance.

In the letter, Sanjeev Kumar, General Secretary of RWA, Sector 51 and Vice-President of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association complained that the park has literally turned into a barren land. He said, “The park was full of greenery earlier. We have maintained the park till recently. Now, it has lost its beauty.”

He complained that the green cover has already dried down due to lack of proper maintenance. It is not looking good as wastage collected from the park in the past has been lying outside the boundaries of the park.

Residents have also demanded an inspection of the park by higher authority. While bringing the issue into her notice, they urged the CEO to visit the park to take stock of facilities of the park.

Kumar suggested that as this is one of the biggest park, it could be given to two to three companies for its maintenance. He said, “The authority should pay attention to restore its beauty by initiating measuring steps.”
