Air quality likely to improve in Delhi in next 48 hours

New Delhi: Delhiites can breathe a sigh of relief as the air quality is expected to improve in the next 48 hours. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to enter 'moderate' category.

According to meteorologists from Skymet Weather, light rainfall is expected on December 12 which would help in dispersing the air pollutants.

For the past seven days, the air quality in Delhi-NCR has been in the 'very poor' category as the cold weather and calm winds allowed the accumulation of pollutants.

The AQI today at 8.45 am stood at 356.

An AQI between 0-50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 'severe'. An AQI above 500 falls in the 'severe plus' category.
