Ghaziabad: Three days after the Supreme Court relaxed ban on construction activity in NCR, Ghaziabad became the most polluted city on Thursday.

It was confirmed by Air Quality Index (AQI) bulletin of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The AQI of Ghaziabad fell into severe category reaching mark of 467 followed by Bulandshahr which measured 444 in AQI scale.

Even after various efforts by the city administration to bring the air quality back to normal, the AQI of Ghaziabad is lingering between poor and severe category.

On Wednesday, the AQI of the city was measured at 441 which increased to 467 on the next day.

“However, the gusty winds and light rainfall started late Thursday evening is expected to bring down the pollution level,” officials said.
