Within a couple of days of the media raising the issue of garbage piled up beside Meghdootam Park, one of the biggest public parks in the city, concerned officials of the Noida Industrial Development Authority came into action and cleared most of the area. The mound of waste was lying at a vacant plot in Sector 50.

Sanjeev Kumar, general secretary of Sector 51 RWA and the complainant, expressed his gratitude to the officials from the department of horticultural for taking up the issue immediately. He said the waste was lying at the spot for several months.

Lauding the role of the media in this case, Kumar said had they not raised the issue before higher authorities, the matter would not have been left unresolved. The same officials who were not ready to even hear them till the other day, showed utmost eagerness to resolve the issue.

It was the publicity through news, he averred that was responsible for the pressure built on the contractor of Meghduttam Park.

The contractor removed almost 80% of the garbage from the vacant plot and adjacent to the C-14 park and footpath which is being repaired in a time-bound manner.
