Raahgiri in Gurugram – all fun road sans traffic hassles
Sunday morning was abuzz with an array of activities planned and undertaken by the common people to reclaim the roads and streets of Gurugram under the concept of Raahgiri. The programme was organised by the district administration.
As in the past, the Raahgiri infused a new energy in the people with a stress-free atmosphere to adults and children alike. Women and elderly people too participated in the Raahgiri with lots of enthusiasm at Sector 4/7 Chowk.
The theme of the Raahgiri was 'Energy Conservation' to mark the celebration of Energy Conservation Day. On the occasion, a painting competition was organised for children on the theme.
The children also presented a skit on energy conservation to the delight of audience. The kids had lots of fun cycling on the road free from the hustle and bustle of vehicular traffic.
A rally based on the theme was also organised to acquaint people about the importance of energy conservation.
People participated in various sports activities including boxing, taekwondo, judo during the Raahgiri, while children display their raw talent at the cultural stage.
Selfie was another craze among the participants. They was some of the memorable moments on their camera and mobiles.
Self-defence techniques were also taught to the attendees at the programme. The children demonstrated their skills in this area too.
Councilor Seema Pahuja, Project Officer Rameshwar, Jagdish Ahlawat and many officials and employees were present on the occasion.
