After long wait, Sec 78 park in for a walking track

Noida: Residents of high rises, especially those living in Sector 78, are elated as the Noida Industrial Development Authority kick started construction of walking tracks in a public park surrounded by residential societies like Supertech Capetown, Grand Ajnara Heritage and North Eye, an under construction building in the area.

The construction of the walking track started almost a year after the park was opened for public.

DK Singh, president of society management board, Grand Ajnara Heritage, said that local MLA Pankaj Singh inaugurated the park last year, but it was not fully developed.

The residents took up the issue with the concerned officers and urged them to complete the work at the earliest. Yet, the work remained unfinished. “The wait is now over as the authority has started the construction work for the walking track in the park,” Singh said.

Earlier, the space, where the park has come up, was used illegally by private realty companies for mixing concrete. After the residents' complaint, the authority cleared the plot of illegal occupancy and converted it into a public park.

Once the construction of the walking track is complete, the residents would talk to the authority for electrification of the track for the convenience of morning walkers.
