Spidey impact: PWD undertakes repair of Laxmi Nagar-Mother Dairy road

Ten days after CitySpidey raised the issue of incomplete construction work on Narwana marg, the Public Works Department came into action. The department has undertaken the construction work in right earnest.

With the building material reaching the site, one can hope within two to three weeks, commuters will have a smooth ride from Laxmi Nagar to Mother Dairy and back.

CitySpidey, through its December 6 report, had highlighted the issue narrating how the incomplete road construction was generating dust pollution in the area.

Two years on, dust haze left after sewer work on road lingers on

It all started with the sewer line work undertaken by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) two years ago. Once the sewer line was fixed, the workers engaged in the work left the site without repairing or levelling the portion of the road. Ever since the road remained in a dilapidated condition.

In the first week of November this year when Delhi experienced worst air pollution, following Supreme Court guidelines, all construction and demolition activity was stopped. Hence, the road repair work could not commence.
In the meantime, commuters and residents of the area grew sick of inhaling dust pollution. Thanks to RWA of Ankur Vihar for raising the issue which the CitySpidey report brought into the public domain.

After the publication of the report, the PWD took up the matter seriously and now the road is in for repair. Very soon the commuters can take a sigh of relief.
