Huge traffic jam due to police barricades in Gurugram

Gurugram: Commuters faced hell of a time while commuting to national capital from Gurugram on Thursday morning. There was huge traffic jam on roads leading to the national capital.

It happened because the Delhi Police barricaded roads and only allowed vehicles after proper checking.

The restrictions have come at a time when several organisations called for a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

An advisory issued by the Gurugram traffic police stated that due to sealing of Delhi borders at National Highway-48, MG Road and old Delhi-Gurugram road by Delhi Police, citizens are advised to avoid non-essential travel to Delhi.

Many office goers got stuck in jam for hours. They faced a lot of inconvenience while travelling to Delhi.

“My office is in South Delhi and I am stuck in jam for atleast an hour feeling helpless,” said Sandhya Ghuliani, a resident of Palam Vihar.

“Traffic congestion has been reported at Delhi-Gurugram border on NH-58 due to barricading by Delhi Police. @TrafficGGM is on the spot to facilitate the traffic. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” a tweet from Gurugram Traffic Police handle read.
