Gzb: FIR to be lodged against schools for not complying with closing orders

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad district administration on Thursday ordered registration of FIR against thirteen schools in the city for not complying with the order to close the schools. The schools did not follow government's order to remain shut on Thursday and Friday owing to the extreme cold wave which has gripped northern India.

The mercury dropped to 7 degrees recording season's lowest minimum temperature on Wednesday. The Meterological Department of India had also predicted the condition to remain persistent till Friday. Following which, Uttar Pradesh government ordered all schools in the state to stay shut till Friday.

Ajay Shankar Pandey, DM Ghaziabad said that the schools would be booked under appropriate sections of the law for flouting the administrative order. “Even after the order which was circulated by District Inspector of Schools, some schools were found open. Stringent actions are being taken against them,” Pandey said.

In addition to the schools, the district administration has extended the closure to higher educational institutes as well.

“The administration has ordered all post graduate, medical, engineering and management colleges/institutions to remain closed on Friday,” told Pandey. He also added that FIR would be lodged against management in case of violation of this order.
