About 60 children spread awareness of gender inequality, domestic violence and eve-teasing through a power-packed performance at the DDA park in Sector 9.

About 60 children from various societies and sectors in Dwarka took part in a street play that tackled the issue of social injustice on women. The play was performed at the DDA park in Sector 9 on Tuesday.  

The play was organised by a group of youngsters who call themselves UVA.

Shashi Kumar, one of the organisers, said, “The aim of the play was to spread awareness of women's issues. The performance touched upon burning issues such as gender inequality, domestic violence, eve-teasing and crime against women.”

Members of FORWAs (Federation of RWAs) in Sector 9 and residents from societies such as Manzil Apartments, Sarva Sanjhi Apartments, Ganpati Apartments, Royal Residency Apartments, Bhrigu Apartments and Paradise Apartments were also present.

MK Singh, general secretary of FORWAs, said, “It was a great effort by the children to make the community aware of the condition of women in society. The performances were really good, and we are happy to host such an event in our neighbourhood park.”
