Gurugram: The five-day long Bal Mahotsav (Children's Festival) drew close on Monday amid much enthusiasm and gaiety.

The second edition of the state-level Bal Mahotsav was organised by the Haryana State Child Welfare Council (HSCWC) at Kingdom of Dreams in Sector-29. It witnessed a record attendance of over two lakh people. 

Divisional Commissioner Ashok Sangwan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony while three-year-old Manisha, a student of Savera School run by HSCWC for differently abled students, and 98-year-old Mahashay Dhrampal Gulati were the special guests for the occasion.

Various competitions, such as group and solo dances, speech competition, face painting, clay modeling, diya decoration were held. Winners were awarded on the concluding day.

At the festival, children along with parents and teachers cherished memorable moments of their lives and captured it through photos and selfies. Besides, children captivated the audiences with their exuberant performances which was appreciated by all.

 

Honorary General Secretary of HSCWC, Krishna Dhul, said that around one-and-a-half lakh children participated in the festival. “This festival was like a dream come true for the children, who have enjoyed every moment of it and are leaving with good memories. A glimpse of unity in diversity were seen in cultural programs.”

The festival will be held again next year.
