Cold wave forces closure of Ghaziabad schools for two days
Ghaziabad: In view of severe cold wave conditions in the region, district administration of Ghaziabad ordered all schools to remain closed for the next two days.
Hence, all the schools up to class XII will remain shut on Friday and Saturday as per the orders issued by Ajay Shankar Pandey, District Magistrate (DM) Ghaziabad.
The administration has forwarded a copy of the order to the principals of the schools, sub-divisional magistrate, district education officers, SSP of respective districts asking them to comply with the order.
In the last eight days, the schools have been ordered to remain close twice. The Uttar Pradesh Government had ordered closure of schools last week from Thursday to Saturday.
"This is being done to protect small children from the extreme weather conditions prevailing across the northern region of the country," an official said.
The administration is strict over the compliance of the orders. Last week, it had ordered registration of a FIR against 13 schools in Ghaziabad after they did not comply with the order to close the schools.
