Unopposed, Janshakti Sewa Samiti retains old body

All 13 candidates for the Janshakti Sewa Samiti, a Noida based socially active pressure group, were elected office bearers of the group unopposed recently. Returning officers declared the election results.

J S Arora and Naresh Upadhya, who were appointed as returning officers during a general body meeting held on 7 December, named the office bearers who they declared elected unopposed as they received only one application against each post.

While Ravi Kant Mishra was named chairman of the Janshakti Sewa Samiti, Narendra Chopra became its president. Dr Deepali Dixit and Chandra Prakash Sharma are the vice-presidents of the Samiti. Other office-bearers of the group are: Shiv Lal Singh, general secretary; Rajesh Awana, secretary; Sakshi Sharma, joint secretary; Sanjeev Kaushik, treasurer, Rahul Arora and Avinash Yadav, media advisors.

AN Dhawan, chief patron, Anil Sharma, patron and SP Gaur, patron also retained their respective posts.

According to the office-bearers of the Seva Samiti, there was only one application against each of the 13 posts. Finding no contender for any of the posts, they have declared the election results on 24 December. Hence, almost all the winners retained their previous posts as other members have not shown interest to go against any of the office-bearers.
