Noida: Residents of Golf View I and II, high rises in Sector 78, would now get a respite from the dark stretches in the vicinity as the agency appointed by Noida Industrial Development Authority started installation of LED lights on roads.
According to officials, as many as 2,695 LED lights would be installed on poles besides the road. The work has begun from the road leading towards Golf View societies from a Hanuman temple in the area.
Devendra Singh, an active citizen from Sector 78, who had complained and followed up to officials for the development, said that installation of street lights is in progress on the above mentioned stretch of road. This has been initiated considering safety issues of commuters and residents of nearby societies.
The work is being carried out by the private agency, sub contractor under supervision of TATA light, another private agency hired by the authority as main contractor.
Singh said that officials had informed him that all dark stretches of roads in 7X sectors would have the LED lights shortly as the work started on it.
